Easter
Easter is on April 17th! Historically, this is always a favorite Spring holiday with Parades, Easter egg hunts, Easter Bonnets and families gathering for church and Easter dinner. This April Full Moon is referred to as the “Paschal Moon” or Pink Moon and is April’s first Full Moon. Easter, as with other holidays, ushers in a changing of the seasons. That season of course being Spring.
Early history reveals that the Easter festival was more celebrated by Catholics than Protestants. The Puritans of New England considered both Easter and Christmas as festivals for heavy drinking and merrymaking.
However, by the 19th century this belief had changed, and the holidays became a time to spend joyous moments with family. Today customary traditions of Easter Egg Hunting, Parades and the Easter Bunny have become the norm.
Passover
In the Jewish faith, this time of the year is referred to as Passover. The Hebrew Bible commemorates Passover as a festival which celebrates the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. This is referenced in the Book of Exodus. During the time of Jesus, Jewish pilgrims flocked to Jerusalem in hope that God would liberate them from the Romans.
On one Passover, Jesus traveled to Jerusalem and the resulting disturbance in the Temple ultimately led to his crucifixion. Passover Flowers are an appropriate gift. The best colors for this holiday are usually Blue and White.

Steve’s Flowers and Gifts offers a beautiful collection of Easter Flowers, Easter Baskets, Easter lilies, and Easter themed gifts in Indianapolis. Our customers can choose from either local same-day, or express flower delivery service. We operate three floral design centers. They are located in Indianapolis, Greenwood and Pendleton. Our Indianapolis flower shop is located at 3150 E Thompson Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
The Greenwood flower shop is located at 2900 Fairview Pl, Greenwood, IN 46142 and the Pendleton design center is located at 105 W State St. Pendleton, IN 46064. All of our flower shops are open to the public for in-store shopping. Each design center has a beautiful customer showroom with a walk-in cooler. We keep our walk-in coolers filled with beautiful Easter themed fresh flower arrangements.
Many of the Easter flowers we buy are purchased directly from flower farms. We purchase flowers from both domestic and international growers. Buying Easter flowers directly from the farm offers many great advantages. Buying direct allows us to reduce the time between when the flowers are cut at the farm and when they arrive in our floral design centers for use in creating Easter and Spring arrangements.
Fresher flowers translate directly into longer vase life. Our customers have access to the finest and freshest Easter and Spring flowers in town. When we purchase directly from flower farms, we save money. We have a history of passing much of those cost savings directly along to our customers.
