Steve’s Flowers and Gifts Inc.
Family Owned and Operated
Steve’s Flowers and Gifts Inc. was founded in 1973 by Steve and Linda Huth. As Steve was attending college, he worked for a local flower shop, delivering, doing odd jobs, and eventually designing. Steve had dreams of opening his own floral facility on the south side of Indianapolis, and when opportunity came, he went to work to make it happen. His philosophy from the start was making sure his customers were happily satisfied. The dedication and commitment towards his goal allowed Steve to move into a larger facility in 1976, and opened a second location in the fast growing town of Greenwood in 1982. In October of 1988, Steve designed and had built his own building which consists of 7,000 square feet.
With greenhouse, card and gift display area, design room, plant department, and a large receiving and delivery area, he supplies his customers with exceptional service and a comfortable setting for shopping and browsing. Through the years, Steve has worked hard for excellent quality in designs, which led to the expansion of the original location in 1999. Expanding this location 3,000 more square feet enabled Steve to have a larger design center to monitor quality control and ensure customer satisfaction.
In 1995, Steve added the convenience of ordering online at www.stevesflowers.com. Today, Steve has made the commitment to adding the convenience of online ordering, while at the same time providing the Personal Service that his customers have come accustom to.

Sympathy Flowers
Sending flowers for a funeral is the thoughtful way to express condolences. The skilled and talented floral designers at Steve’s Flowers and Gifts will work directly with the funeral home to ensure that your delivery arrives on time.
Lilies
It is very common that in most funerals, lilies will be on display. Widely accepted as a traditional sympathy flower, they symbolize the soul of the departed offering hope for the renewal process. Most often white is the color selected especially if the service is religious or faith based.
Carnations
When services are extended carnations are a wonderful choice. These flowers are extremely fragrant and can last longer that other flowers. Choosing a white carnation as a sympathy flower symbolizes purity and innocence. Choosing pink carnations is an expression of sending thoughts of remembrance.
Chrysanthemums
The mum is used in China, Korea and Japan to symbolize grief. In several European countries, the chrysanthemum is used exclusively for the purpose of placing on graves and as a funeral arrangement.
Gladioli
Gladiolus are often the sympathy flower of choice to send a message of strength and character displayed throughout the life of the departed. This is a message to the family intended to uplift their spirits at this time of tremendous loss.
Roses
Roses are a flower that is appropriate for just about every occasion. The universal meaning to express love and respect is perfect as a sympathy flower. Each color of rose symbolizes a different meaning. Red for example are the love and respect. Pink roses reflect a sign of appreciation and grace. Yellow are typically used if the person you are honoring is a close friend. Finally white roses convey a message of innocence and youth.
Orchids
When you send orchids you are saying “I will always love you”. Like the other flowers, orchids come in a variety of beautiful colors. Pink, purple, or white orchid plant can all be used as a sympathy flower.
Hydrangeas
Not always are flowers the only choice as a sympathy gift. Often potted plants are sent for sympathy support. The hydrangea is a common potted plant used. The nice thing is after the funeral the plant may be placed in an outdoor garden so the family will have a beautiful remembrance for several years.
Daffodils and Tulips
Daffodils and tulips can bring encouragement and hope during a time of loss and sadness. They are a very uplifting flower and usually sent directly to the grieving family.
